Hello everyone!

ShaneHM here reporting on my shiny new army with battle report to go along with it.  For those that don’t know me, I ran the 40k league at Game Empire: San Diego for almost 7 years.  I play in tournaments once or twice a year (and tend to do well), but I usually prefer a more leisurely pace to my competitive fun.  Enough about me though!

After playing two games of 6th edition it became apparent that my Ork Green Tide army just wasn’t as good in the new edition.  I had been slowly converting my Imperial Guard over to Chaos and decided it was time to fully turn their backs from The Emperor’s light.  I sold off anything that was painted loyalist colors and used the money to buy some of those sexy Forge World Traitor Guard models.

While going through this process, I decided that I wanted to try out the new psychic powers.  After drawing up list after list, I put together this army that is pretty off the wall and incredibly fun to play.  It’s not the most competitive, but this is what I’ve been enjoying most so far in 6th edition 40k.  To add some flavor and killing power, I’m using Grey Knights as a base with Imperial Guard allies (blasphemy, I know, but Chaos loves blasphemy!).  I’m only using Inquisitors and Henchmen from the GK book, so you can’t cry cheese too loudy.  These two armies have the cheapest Psykers, so I maxed out on HQs.  On with the list:

Deathwatch: The Rising Tempest

As the conflict against the Tau approaches its breaking point and paranoia over their suspected acts of sedition reaches an all-time high, the infamous Lord Commander Ebongrave seeks allies he can trust in his campaign against disloyalty. But are Tau sympathizers really maneuvering among the loyal citizens of the Imperium? And if so, what darker plans do they hold in store? Rising Tempest is an epic adventure in three parts for Deathwatch, the popular Warhammer 40,000 roleplaying game. When the Tau make a play for dominance that threatens to tip the balance of power in the Canis Salient, they’ll unwittingly endanger the entire Jericho Reach… and only the Space Marines of the Deathwatch can stop them.

Dark Eldar 1000 point List

Dark Eldar, Warhammer 40K  Comments Off on Dark Eldar 1000 point List

This is one of my favorite lists of all times at 1000 points.  Not only is this list easy to play it allows you to apply several different strategies while it is on the table.   It just doesn’t matter what you are playing against with this list you stand a a chance.  It is balanced.  Yet it’s fairly straight forward.  While the Dark Eldar as a whole are a pretty balanced army this one is a shooting army.   That doesn’t mean they can’t hold their own in close combat it just means they  will do better without it.

The army contains only 56 models. While that is not an impressive number the important thing to note is the firepower.  We will look at that in a minute.  Here is the list

If you haven’t read the first two installments of this article you might want to start there.

I have gone ahead and converted a Ellyrian Reaver into a Centigor.  Since, I am not very artsy I am quite happy with the result.  I even think it is a better representation of the what I believe a Centigor should look like than the actual models.   Below I will give you the step by step instructions that I used followed by a gallery of photos.

This month in December GW is giving us some good deals and some new models.

The monster Ghorgon) above is one of the many fantasy releases you can find here.  Thy also have two really good army deals.  one for the High Elves, and the other for Skaven.

For 40k they have two army deals MegaForces) that won’t be around long.  The Dark Eldar ( I wish I had 600 bucks to spare  for three) and the Space Marines.   Both of them rock in at 215 dollars and contain about 300.00 worth of product.  you can view them here.

Game Review Warhammer 40K

Warhammer 40K is another sci-fi skirmish game.  It has a huge following.  It is both loved and hated by gamers around the world.  There is just so much one can say in the great GW argument, but we aren’t here to fuel that debate.  I am here to give an honest review of Warhammer 40K

Here is my brief history  of 40k.  In November of 2004 (the night bfore Thanksgiving actually)  I painted my first 40 Dark Eldar Warriors.   For, oh the next 3 years we played pretty hard, 2 or 3 nights a week.  So, what happened?  Life just kind of got in the way.  Our 4oK games began to grind down.  We still play a game or 2 a year but it is nothing like it used to  be.

So here we go the roller coaster known as 40K.

Warhammer 40k Uses an archaic set of game rules.  The largest detriment to the game is the whole army activations.  The game industry moved away from this around 2003.  Not only is whole army activation old it slows down game play.  The game would play much faster if the interaction of activations alternated form player to player instead of army to army.  Further, if  the activations alternated squad to squad the game would allow for more tactics.

Bits on eBay

I know, I intended this to be place to to vent about the ridiculous things eBay does to sellers.

  • like raise the fee schedule and make sound like a benefit.
  • like DSR’s  – what a scam.
  • and the new improved multi-feedback is so good I don’t use it

But I am not here this time to rant about it, I have hours of audio with customer support though.  I am actually here to tell you 40k players that we just listed a ton of bits. at http://stores.ebay.com/GameQuest-Online.

The raised money will be used to buy us some more equipment and Necrons for some BOX BREAKINGS (unboxings).

So if you like what you have seen so far and you need a power fist or a melta head on over to eBay and support us little bit.

Thank you for your support.
