enforcers-plagueWarpath Firefight: The Other Sci-Fi Game from England

Ussskip

I decided to do a write up of this game after my first two games played.  I also watched a third.  The most amazing thing is they occurred one after another in a space of five hours.  This is a new game to my group.  We backed it on Kickstarter.

We went whole hog, full bore, so to speak.  Not content to just kill the other player we decided to play scenarios as the designers intended.  The armies used were Marauders (Orc like race), Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere (Normal Human Soldiers), and Forge Fathers (Dwarves).  I was maneuvered into playing Forge Fathers.  Not a choice I would have normally made.  After my two games I love the stunty little bastids’.  We played at 1250 point suggested level.

9d9071124d9150a462cad733602cdfac_originalThis is another game by Mantic Games.  I don’t know too much about it, in fact I even missed the Kickstarter. I know that it was a huge hit, like all the games they make.  This is a bit different though it features the characters from the comic book.

Check out the kickstarter,  “The team will be taking pre-orders ahead of the retail release and you will be able to have a look through a production copy of the game. If you swing by stand 833 you can also pick-up your own free Walker figure – but be quick, because numbers are limited.  ”  That’s from the Mantic Games news letter.

And please check out my Gen Con  Go Fund Me. Just sharing will be a huge help.

“What’s that noise?”

All the warriors lifted there ear.

Run! Cried the Commander, “Gen Con is upon us!”

“Shall we crack open the Kegs Sir?” One Shouted with great Cheer.

“No, not until the die has been rolled,” he belched.

A cloud of dust rose over the land as they rushed to Indianapolis for great games and companionship.

It occurred to me that my count might end up off.  That isn’t because I can’t count, it’s much more likely that I might not have the time to make the posts once I arrive in Indy.

It has been a day since I shared my desire to explore The Amega Weapon. Today we will look at aliens. Is it a surprise that there will be aliens at Gen Con? I’m sure that I’m going to leave some out, but I’m really looking forward to checking Alien Uprising from Mr.B. Games, All quiet on the Martian Front, and Mars Attacks.

Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King’s Quest Kickstarter launches on Monday 4th August 2014 at 1:30pm BST

Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King’s Quest is the dungeon adventure board game for 2-5 players. The heroes must battle their way through 6 exciting scenarios, growing in strength and acquiring magical items, before eventually facing off against the Necromancer in a final exciting showdown between good and evil.
Will you fight back against the hordes of darkness, or will you let evil prevail?

Dungeon Saga

The runes also unlocked a secret passkey:
Hjalgeir

Enter this Dwarfen password to discover more about Dungeon Saga and the secrets within… ( and watch out, mystic magic surrounds the passkey makes it case sensitive)

I’m looking forward to this.   I have played  Dwarf King’s hold twice now and find it enjoyable.   Ronnie has an interview with Beasts of war that explains the game in much more detail.   I think my favorite part is how they stage the learning.
