Shadowrun: Anarchy offers a fun, fantastic storytelling game.
Jason and I always have fun we disicuss Court of Shadows, Anarchy and Music and Trog!
I have to admit when I first heard about Court of Shadows I was skeptical, but I think I like the idea now.
So how does a troll sleep with dermal deposits?
Loren and I chat about the house of Kurita. Plus some of the other new things they are about to unroll. He also hints what the Kurita Combat manual is about. Plus he tells us about the campaign operations manual – it’s plug n play! He also explains some of the mechanics that set the new Valiant deck builder apart from other card games.
Thanks Loren, It’s always fun talking with you.
I sat down with Loren Coleman @ Origins Game Fair and had a great discussion. We talked about some CBT, Vikings, The Duke, Jarl, and we even started creating a new set for The Duke. It was a great time!
I really hope he wasn’t pulling my leg when he said they were going to make a Sherlock Holmes set for The Duke. It would be so cool to be a part of that!
I caught up with Jason Hardy at Origins 2016. Jason is the line editor for Shadowrun. Jason brought me up to speed on his novel, a few others, all of the shadow titles, a push your luck SR dice game, and we talked about the tarot deck. Oh did I mention Munge? I think that’s the right spelling.
According to Jason Shadowrun has a lot happening and the world is about to be in a state of chaotic flux, which means your runners will have a lot of work.
Shadowrun: Howling Shadows
Gangers. Corp security. Mr. Johnson. Organized crime. Other shadowrunners. Running in the Sixth World does not exactly lack for obstacles, but only foolish runners worry solely about metahuman opponents. There are plenty of other ways the world can kill you, from throat-ripping martachoras to blood-sucking chupacabras, from the aggressive gamma spider to the swarming harpy. While most runners would be happy to simply avoid these threats, it’s not always possible. Critters may be used as security, they may swarm in abandoned areas runners must investigate, or they may carry valuable reagents runners need. Some of them may even hold the keys to unlocking the sort of powers runners covet.
Shadowrun: Seattle Box Set
The core setting of the Shadowrun role-playing game deserves a detailed treatment that gives both players and game masters tools to make using the setting easier and more fun. With geographic details, plot hooks, a large collection of player cards, an innovative modular map system that can easily generate a wide variety of buildings in moments, and more, this box will immerse players in the tumult and chaos of the Emerald City.
Shadowrun: Market Panic ($44.99)
Chaos is horrible for business—unless your business is shadowrunning. The Big Ten megacorporations of the Sixth World are reeling, with scandals, disasters, and crippling attacks coming at them from all angles. NeoNET is scrambling to maintain AAA status, Ares is trying not to let the secret rot at the heart of the corp become public, while Aztechnology, fresh from taking on a dragon in Amazonia, is looking at a facedown with another great dragon. And that’s not all—every corp is a pile of schemes, turmoil, upheaval, and teetering chaos, because that’s how they operate.
Market Panic runs down the state of the Big Ten for Shadowrun, providing the background, story developments, and plot hooks players and gamemasters need to add excitement, intrigue, and Sixth World flavor to their adventures and campaigns. If you’re going to run for or against the big megacorporations—and that includes all shadowrunners—this is critical information to have so you know what you might get thrown into, who you’re going up against, and how you might obtain enough intel to survive
Catalyst Game Labs will be at Gen Con 2014 in force! We’ve got a slew of great gaming and games to check out at booths 417, 413, 509, 617.
