FaithsOfGolarion

In this Flip Through Matt takes a look at the Faiths of Golarion campaign setting for Pathfinder.  This book includes ten lesser gods of Golaria. It offers up a a complete write up that includes their domain, sub domains, favored weapons, and an obedience. While these deities are not the major players in the pantheon of Golaria don’t think that they aren’t influential to their believers!

Characters of any class can perform the obedience of their deity to be granted an ability that lasts for the day – if they have the Divine obedience feat. Further characters with the feat will be granted more power if they have at least 12 hd – sooner if they are of the right prestige class.  Faiths of Golarion brings us 5 new domains and 4 sub domains plus new feats and spells.

What I love about the Pathfinder faith books is that they take the idea of faith and break it down so any player character can believe as much or as little as the character would like.

This is a nice supplement for the Pathfinder system, helping players and G.M.s round out their stories.

Gen Con 2018 Video Blitz Funded in Under 24 hours!

Those of you that follow me know that the Gen Con Video Blitz is a relaunch of our canceled Season 8 Kickstarter. I knew I was going to fund pretty early on, but I didn’t expect to achieve it before Monday! So how did I know? I think, in part, it was because I already had some publicity from the  full season Kickstarter attempt.  The clincher was when I saw people pledging that I had never heard of. I knew that it was going to go all the way.  We still haven’t had everyone hop back on board yet from the previous project, and we are moving through stretch goals already!  While I am it it check this out:
Through Gamer Goggles Gen Con 2018 Video Blitz -- Kicktraq Mini

Not bad for twenty hours!

With that said the first stretch goal has already been met, which is the Road to Gen Con 2018.  The Road to Gen Con is my crazy way of communicating with people before the show. I did this a couple of years ago and I had a blast.  One of the first things I will do for the Road To Gen Con is create a landing page for it.  Then I will start reaching out to publishers for some inside information to promote them at Gen Con. There will be live Kickstarter videos on the topic of Gen Con – schedule coming soon.  The Road to Gen Con will also include the most complete miniature and RPG release I can muster.  No board games BGG has cornered the market on that one.

There are a lot of stretch goals to unlock and the rewards are awesome so don’t hesitate to check it out!

I’m so glad that so many people believe in what Through Gamer Goggles does, and I’m even happier they want to be a part of it.

Thank you,

The Adventurer’s Guide is a little different than most of their books, but it had to be.

Role-Play Ramblings 2.6: Social Tension in Role-Playing

In this episode of Role-Play Ramblings Matt talks with, his guest, Jason Hardy of Catalyst Game Labs about social tension and how it can be applied to role-playing. Filmed at Origins 2016 this is one of my favorite episodes of all time. This episode was inspired by the transgender bathroom debate that was socially prominent early in 2016. Jason and I don’t actually debate an issue here; we discuss how to apply an issue appropriately with your community.

This is a really great episode for thse who truly want to create an extremely rich game world.  Thank you Jason Hardy for making this topic make perfect sense

In this episode of Role-Play Ramblings Matt discusses spotlighting. Which is the art of allowing player characters shine at the right point in time for them to become integral to the story.

I have been GMing for about 30 years and I still find this to be one of the most difficult things to do!

In this Role-Play Ramblings Matt talks about Story telling, He shares some of the pitfalls he has experienced as a GM and he talks about how writing fiction differs from writing an adventure.

This is probably a topic I will come back to in the future, it’s one of those rare topic where you can always learn and apply something.
