Upper Deck’s Appearance at the San Diego Comic Con will be Legendary!

 

Trading card & gaming company preparing a variety of show specials, exclusives and giveaways which will be thrilling for attendees!

 

Carlsbad, Calif. (July 24, 2014) – San Diego is buzzing with activity this week with the annual Comic Con show set to take place starting this week. Upper Deck is poised to make a big impression with attendees during the week at the company’s corporate booth (#307 in Lobby A) with a variety of promotions exclusive for the convention.

 

As Upper Deck prepares to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 40th Anniversary with a new line of trading card products, the company will make four different promotional bags available to attendees for $10 each or $40 for all four. Each bag includes an exclusive San Diego Comic Con Hello Kitty promotional card and figure celebrating the pop icon through the decades – 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s and 2000’s – along with an Upper Deck Hello Kitty figure pack! Fans who purchase all four bags will also get a San Diego Comic Con exclusive black sparkle figure as a gift with purchase! Bags are limited to just 250 per day and will sell out! Additionally there will be a variety of Upper Deck Hello Kitty products for sale at show specials and free Hello Kitty temporary tattoos distributed to all fans. Even Hello Kitty herself will be making an appearance at the Upper Deck booth for photo opportunities with fans on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and again on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Hello everyone!

ShaneHM here reporting on my shiny new army with battle report to go along with it.  For those that don’t know me, I ran the 40k league at Game Empire: San Diego for almost 7 years.  I play in tournaments once or twice a year (and tend to do well), but I usually prefer a more leisurely pace to my competitive fun.  Enough about me though!

After playing two games of 6th edition it became apparent that my Ork Green Tide army just wasn’t as good in the new edition.  I had been slowly converting my Imperial Guard over to Chaos and decided it was time to fully turn their backs from The Emperor’s light.  I sold off anything that was painted loyalist colors and used the money to buy some of those sexy Forge World Traitor Guard models.

While going through this process, I decided that I wanted to try out the new psychic powers.  After drawing up list after list, I put together this army that is pretty off the wall and incredibly fun to play.  It’s not the most competitive, but this is what I’ve been enjoying most so far in 6th edition 40k.  To add some flavor and killing power, I’m using Grey Knights as a base with Imperial Guard allies (blasphemy, I know, but Chaos loves blasphemy!).  I’m only using Inquisitors and Henchmen from the GK book, so you can’t cry cheese too loudy.  These two armies have the cheapest Psykers, so I maxed out on HQs.  On with the list:
