Shadows of Esteren is a medieval role-playing game, with a horrific and gothic influence. Drawing inspiration from Celtic myths, this universe has a discreetly fantastic side hidden under a bleak, realistic surface. This world is populated with humans who have to cope with tough daily lives, and face a supernatural threat lurking in the dark. With the focus of its adventures being investigation and survival, Shadows of Esteren favor an immersive mood and interactions among the Players. Intended for the Players as well as for the Game Leaders, Book 1 -Universe is composed of two parts. The first part describes the world according to its inhabitants’ point of view-through letters, short stories, and testimonies, etc.-structured around a detailed table of contents and index, so that a reader may easily get his bearings. The second part contains a complete Game System, as well as six sample Characters, and several player aids for an optimal preparation for the first gaming sessions.

In this Box Breaking Matt opens up a Drake for Heavy Gear. This model was made available at Gen Con 2012 in a limited quantity. This model has a lot of options to it. It is going to be a challenge for me to put together.

Hello gamers tonight we played HEAP from Prvateer Press. It’s a Bodger’s game. Heap is a race to put 3 pieces of equipment on each of your vehicles and then create a pile up. It is a simple game with a lot of tactics.

In this interview Jason and John discuss the next Field Manual “Forged in Fire”. We talk about the changes to force lists and how the Nucoal is the new concept of building. They drop some names of gears in the new videos. We even managed to get our hands on the Drake, Box Breaking by Saturday. Both John and Jason have been involved with Heavy Gear for a long time, it becomes evident when we spring the question on them about their favorite era.

With Gen Con only being a few days away I thought I would share some information with you about Heavy Gear. The really cool part is the rules are a free download for a short while.

I have finally managed to read through the quick start rules for Bushido The Game. While reading the rules I kept thinking does this work? When I was done reading I didn’t even want to play the game. My first rule on a game review play before you write. I’m glad I am disciplined enough to follow my rules. Because the game is fun and a lot of it.

If you didn’t already know Bushido the game is an Asian themed fantasy skirmish game. It is played on a 2×2 board with about 5 models a team.
