Ares Games acquires the license to publish the “Age of Conan” strategy board game

The Italian game publisher will relaunch the game by publishing an expansion, “Adventures in Hyboria”, to be launched on Kickstarter next month

September 2014 – Ares Games is proud to announce that a deal has been signed with Conan Properties International LLC to re-launch and expand the “Age of Conan” Strategy Board game.

“Conan is a classic property with great stories, and the Hyborian world is a wonderful setting for a board game”, commented Roberto Di Meglio, Director of R&D of Ares Games, and one of the game authors. “We think that Age of Conan will be a great addition to Ares’ catalog, and we have very exciting plan to develop the game.”

WARPO RELEASES FIRST LOOK AT UNPAINTED PRODUCTION SAMPLES OF LEGENDS OF CTHULHU RETRO ACTION FIGURES

CHICAGO, IL (September 30, 2014): Indie toy company Warpo is thrilled to share today a first-look at the forthcoming Legends of Cthulhu (LoC) retro action figure line. These images represent the four Legends of Cthulhu figures – Spawn of Cthulhu, The Deep One, The Professor, and The Cultist, as well as the Kickstarter Exclusives High Priest and Conjured Cthulhu – in their unpainted form from the factory. These images are early production sneak-peeks, and not the final product.

Legends of Cthulhu was funded via Kickstarter in June 2014, raising the initial funds in just three days. The retro action figures are currently available for pre-order through Diamond Comic Distributors at your local comic book store, as well as through Big Bad Toy Store, and will be available at retail January 2015.

Legends of Cthulhu is a retro-styled, 3.75” action figure line, the first based on the iconic characters of H.P. Lovecraft and created by sculptor Eddy Mosqueda (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Masters of the Universe), and artist Ken Kelly (Micronauts, Manglor Mountain, KISS’ Destroyer album cover), the pioneers of the look and feel of beloved action figures from the 1970s and 1980s, to bring Legends of Cthulhu to life.

Eclipse Phase is the post-apocalyptic game of transhuman conspiracy and horror. At Gen Con I met the crew from Black Monk and they Asked me to do a preview for their new game 1919 the Noble Experiment. It’s a card game where two to four players race to distill whisky, bottle it, and deliver it to the local bars and pubs.

I have had a lot of people ask me where we had our T-shirts made. So I felt the need to share. Lisa Lemke, my wife, started with a photo taken from Gen Con 2011. She put the image in Gimp and took out the background and the layered in some textures. Andy Hopp actually pointed me to 00 shirts.

I really couldn’t be happier than I am with them. The reached my door in less than two weeks.

I have to admit from articles I read about Alien Frontiers I expected it to have a much larger learning curve. I found the game to be delightful.
