I caught up with Justin Dewit at Origins Game Fair. Where we discussed Hot Shots, Bears and the latest Castle Panic release. We actually play Bears.
Justin was a lot of fun.

Justin was a lot of fun.
So I caught up with Hawk Wargames at Origins 2017. We spoke about Dropzone of course. But we also talked about some of their plans for gaming at cons. Good stuff inside.
I really like the direction they are moving the “approved” play in – it means I will get some more players in the are.
Dom from Cubicle 7 graced my presence while at Gen Con and we talked about Dalek Dice, Time Crash (their DR WHO card game), Lord of the Rings 5E, and the cover of the DR Who rule book – sort of.
Dom this interview was a lot of fun – thank you.
This is just insane!
Gen Con Approaching Badge Sellout for Historic 50th Convention
INDIANAPOLIS (June 23, 2017) Gen Con, the largest and longest running hobby gaming convention in North America, will begin to cap 2017 badge sales if current trends hold. The company recommends that interested attendees purchase 4-Day and Single Day badges soon to guarantee entry to Gen Con 50. Those interested can purchase badges at gencon.com while supplies last.
“Gen Con has prepared to host the largest convention in its 50-year history,” said Adrian Swartout, CEO of Gen Con. “I would like to thank all the attendees who have decided to celebrate this historic year with us. To continue providing the best attendee experience, we have decided to carefully control badge sales, and we will begin capping badges when we reach our internal attendance estimates.”
The convention has capped Trade Day and other individual badge types previously in Indianapolis, but has never limited 4-Day or Single Day badge sales.
“Gen Con 50 is the 15th year the convention has been hosted in Indy. With record-setting attendance and continued expansion into Lucas Oil Stadium, this year’s show will surely surpass last year’s $71 million in economic impact for Central Indiana,” said Leonard Hoops, President & CEO of Visit Indy.
Gen Con 50 will take place August 17-20, 2017 in the Indiana Convention Center, at Lucas Oil Stadium, and at participating hotels. The convention will feature more than 500 exhibitors, more than 17,000 events, and an exclusive concert from Grammy-winning recording artist They Might Be Giants.
When I spoke with Randall I was fortunate enough to get the first look at the Masters of Orion deck building game. We get a sneak peak of Shadowrun Zero Day and we discuss Dragonfire.
I did get to play Dragonfire I will chat about that later.
I stopped by Queen games and spent some time with Travis. We started with Immortals. Then we moved to Captain Silver and Templars’ Journey.
It’s too early for me to say anything about immortals, I can say that Captain Silver is a blast and Templars’ Journey looks so promising.
I ran into Jason Hardy from Catalyst Game Labs at Origins 2017 and as always we had a great chat. One of the first things we discussed was the tarot deck – it’s beautiful. We also discussed Seattle Sprawl, Anarchy, and Cutting Aces.
I can’t wait to pick up Cutting Aces – I hope it’s as good as I believe it to be.
I caught up with Matt Hyra at Origins 2017, He goes over Masters of Orion, Rick and Morty: Anatomy Park, Attack on Titan: The Last Stand, and Train Heist.
Train Heist sounds like it’s a lot of fun.
In this Box Breaking Matt takes a look at Munchkin X-Men. Is the art going be goofy or traditional? Take a look!
The art is solid and I like the feel that it lends towards superhero.
I caught up with Tony Gullotti from Arcane Wonders at Origins Game Fair, where we played Spoils of War, and talked about the new Force Mage and Viral.
The Force Mage is quite sexy. Spoils of War is a great bluffing game – better with beer. Viral is very intriguing at this point.
