Original new board game from Upper Deck introduces new Euro-style game mechanics with French Tarot-sized cards!

Carlsbad, Ca. (April 6, 2015) – Upper Deck has announced plans to release Bring Out Yer Dead, a new and original game of morbid family fun. Bring Out Yer Dead is the first non-licensed game offering from Upper Deck, which also introduced the popular Legendary® Deck Building Game, currently on its 3rd reprint and 6th expansion.
The new Bring Out Yer Dead game is set in the Victorian era and revolves around families competing for the best grave plots for their dearly departed. Keeping true to the theme, small wooden coffin tokens are used for game pieces and French Tarot style playing cards feature characters such as the grave digger, the grave robber, the fortune teller and the plague doctor. The game uses a Euro-style game worker placement mechanic combined with deck building elements and bidding mechanics, along with a little back-stabbing and treachery for added fun.

The pretense of the game is that you (as the player) are in a position to become the potential new head of the family. To do so, you must earn as much influence and riches as you possibly can to solidify your place in the family and in the town. Influence is earned by vying to get the “dying” members of your family into the most desirable grave plots available. Players bid to get bodies on the Grave Digger’s cart by playing cards from their hand. Players can use their cards to switch graves, move opponent’s bodies to less desirable grave plots, dump bodies in the river, rescue bodies from the river or even do a little grave robbing of their own.
Bring Out Yer Dead is for 2 to 5 players, ages 14 and older and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to play. The game includes a double sided game board; 98 cards; 65 wooden coffin token pieces; 5 player crests and a color rule book. It is expected to be available in limited quantities at Origins in June, and then from game retailers worldwide at a price of $49.99.

Cubicle 7’s first Kickstarter project was to fund a deluxe boxed set for Call of Cthulhu, Cthulhu Britannica: London, providing both Keepers and investigators with everything they need to play games set in 1920s London. The campaign succeeded beyond their wildest dreams, funding to the tune of over £90,000/$130,000!

Today Cubicle 7 were pleased to announce that the PDF version of Cthulhu Britannica: London boxed set is now available to buy. They’re also opening the pre-order for the physical boxed set too, and pre-orders both on their webstore and at participating Bits & Mortar retailers come with a complementary PDF copy too. So, if you missed out with the Kickstarter, now’s your chance to pick up this superb new boxed set.

London in the 1920s is the greatest city in the world, a vibrant melting pot of history and culture at the heart of the British Empire. But underneath the powerhouse of the City lie millennia of history, from the well-documented paths of Roman Londinium to darker antediluvian secrets veiled from modern eyes. London sits atop its history: an ancient swampland that was itself once an even-more-ancient sea-bed. Who knows what secrets lie buried?

Cthulhu Britannica: London comprises three books: The Investigator’s Guide to London, The Keeper’s Guide to London and Adventures in Mythos London.

The Investigator’s Guide to London is a comprehensive guide to the capital in the 1920s. It contains, amongst other things, information on public transport, the bustling party scene, the people and a whole lot about the places investigators might go in the course of your adventures. Great for both players and Keepers alike, and packed full of maps and beautiful artwork.

Secondly is the Keeper’s Guide to London, which is strictly for the Keeper’s eyes only! This book is jammed full of ideas for running Call of Cthulhu adventures set in London, including new cults and Mythos threats, advice for capturing the unique feel of the city, a ready-made private club devoted to investigating the weird and wonderful, and a whole swathe of NPCs and plot hooks that you can use in your own games.

The final book is Adventures in Mythos London, which includes three complete, standalone adventures set in the capital city: Terror on the Thames, by Peter Wright, which has the investigators caught up in a night to remember on a boat trip down the river; Those Poor Souls Who Dwell in Light, by Call of Cthulhu 7th edition author Paul Fricker, which concerns the sins of Reverend Leigh, a vicar who has come into possession of a potent artefact; and The Non-Euclidean Gate, by Mark A. Latham, which is all about what happens when seven pages from one of John Dee’s notebooks turns up unexpectedly on the open market.

But that’s not all that will be included in the boxed set: There are also have six sheets of beautifully designed handouts for you to use in your games (in the physical edition these will be die-cut – you’ll have to print and cut them out for yourself in the PDF edition). Some of these are taken from the scenarios in Adventures in Mythos London, others completely new to inspire your own scenarios.

The physical boxed set also contains four poster maps, including a beautifully illustrated Macdonald Gill map of Central London – these are included at screen resolution in the PDF version.

The physical boxed sets are expected to ship in Spring 2015.

$99.99

End of Empires: 1744-1783 is a two player game covering the three great conflicts fought on the North American continent between 1744 and 1783: King George’s War, sometimes known as the Old French War, which was part of the War of the Austrian Succession), the French and Indian War, part of the Seven Years War (known in England as the Great War for Empire), and the American Revolutionary War. The French and Indian War ended the French Empire in Canada; the American Revolution ended the British Empire in the 13 American colonies.

Each End of Empire game turn represents two months’ time. Each year consists of one spring turn, two summer turns, one fall turn, and two winter turns. Each hex is approximately 20 miles across. Units are mostly regiments but a few represent other sizes, each step represents approximately 250 men.

End of Empire features two maps showing eastern North America. Each hex or town contains natural and/or man-made features that can affect the movement of units and the combat between units.

End of Empire is an Epic game and perhaps the most detailed coverage of the critical period that saw the Empires of England, France, and Spain exit North America and the rise of the United States of America. With thirteen (yes, 13) scenarios, End of Empire represents plenty of value for your gaming dollar.

Contains:

Two 22 x 34 inch maps

Four countersheets (9/16” size)

One rulebook

One scenario book

Multiple reference cards
