Top 8 Advance to Round 4 of RPG Superstar
Finalists to Design Original Encounters by End of Week
February 21, 2012 (REDMOND, Wash.) – Eight amateur game designers have advanced to Round 4 of Paizo Publishing’s RPG Superstar, the largest open-call tabletop roleplaying design contest in history. Celebrity judges Sean K Reynolds from Paizo, Necromancer Games president Clark Peterson, Goblinworks CEO Ryan Dancey, and RPG Superstar 2009 winner Neil Spicer critiqued the Pathfinder campaign-setting-specific creatures from Round 3 before public vote determined the 8 semifinalists.
“I’m really impressed with the results so far,” said Sean K Reynolds. “The monster round had many excellent submissions, and several of them are practically ready for publication. Each round we see the voters selecting the most talented competitors for the next challenge, and the best designers step up and meet that challenge.”

Hive pocket is the very same wonderful game we all love, but in a compact version. With all its pieces in a portable small cloth bag, this game can provide fun just about anywhere! This edition includes two bonus pieces, “The Mosquito” and “Ladybug,” expansions to the game which provide additional hours of fun! The object: To surround your opponent’s queen bee while trying to block your opponents from doing the same. Each player has 13 tiles; representing different insects. At last there is an easy to play introduction to the Empire Builder series of games.
In Empire Express, players create competing railroad empires by drawing railroad tracks with crayons upon an erasable board. You win if you utilize your network of rail lines to acquire and deliver goods efficiently to accumulate the largest personal fortune!
The base game provides pre-programmed routes on a board depicting a north eastern portion of the US with demand cards providing players with an easy way to learn the system through play.
Players start with the bare bones of a railroad: an empty train and track connecting some cities. Each turn you and your fellow players take turns building track, operating trains, and delivering loads. The bank will pay you for each delivered load.
With the starting route guided by the board, only two loads per card and a visual pick-up and delivery guide on every card the learning curve is greatly shortened.

It has been a couple of weeks since Dark Ascension has released and a standard pro tour is behind us as well. I know I could have made all kinds of predictions about what is going to be and why it is going to do so, but I have had a lot on my plate.
