I stopped by Queen games and spent some time with Travis.  We started with Immortals. Then we moved to Captain Silver and Templars’ Journey.

It’s too early for me to say anything about immortals, I can say that Captain Silver is a blast and Templars’ Journey looks so promising.

I ran into Jason Hardy from Catalyst Game Labs at Origins 2017 and as always we had a great chat. One of the first things we discussed was the tarot deck – it’s beautiful. We also discussed Seattle Sprawl, Anarchy, and Cutting Aces.

I can’t wait to pick up Cutting Aces – I hope it’s as good as I believe it to be.

Train Heist sounds like it’s a lot of fun.

I caught up with Tony Gullotti from Arcane Wonders at Origins Game Fair, where we played Spoils of War, and talked about the new Force Mage and Viral.

The Force Mage is quite sexy. Spoils of War is a great bluffing game – better with beer. Viral is very intriguing at this point.

Fireside Games is thrilled to announce the release of Kaiju Crush on November 1, 2017. Designed by Tim Armstrong and Justin De Witt (creator of Castle Panic), Kaiju Crush is a light strategy game with limited grid movement, shared objectives, and intransitive combat on a modular board.

Players choose 1 of 4 giant monsters to play and proceed to crush buildings and fight other kaiju for victory points. On each player’s turn, they choose to play either their own Movement Card or the Shared Movement Card to land on and crush a City Tile (a building). The player picks up the City Tile and drops a Territory Marker in its place. City Tiles score different points and Territory Markers can yield victory points based on Objective Cards, such as connected or unconnected Territory Markers, the number of City Tile Groups a player claims, and shapes created on the city grid.
