It’s the season for RPG Superstar and I managed to borrow some of Owen K.C. Stephens time fo ran interview.

I broke it into two parts, Bio and RPG Superstar/writing tips.   I was going to break into a third part but that would have made it a little awkward.  Any way here is what we talked about

The first 6 minutes of my interview with Owen discusses his history. His humble beginnings at Wizards of the Coast and his journey to Paizo.

In this next portion of the interview we discuss RPG Superstar and writing.   Looking back I can see how closely related the writing is to RPG Superstar – on your first listen it might seem like we get distracted. The reality of it is that writing is really the essence of RPG Superstar.  I hope you enjoy it.

I apologize for my user error.  I made myself the presenter and I omitted Owen from the camera. But you have to thank him anyway, he saved you by giving me some of his favorite photos for a slide show saving your eyes from face.

RPG Superstar round four just ended and the finalists will be announced tonight. If you haven’t taken part in the contest it’s not too late to join the community. I’ve been gaming a long time and I have to say it’s one of the best communities to be involved in.

Sorry I didn’t post Yesterday,  I had a a ton of computer problems.

Anyway, with only four days left I was reminiscing about conventions I had been to in the past.  one of the things that came to my mind was Mech Pods

These massive cockpits Are rolled off the trucks and made ready for players to ensue all kinds of Battletech carnage.   Virtual World Entertainment has done a great job with the programming for all metal mashing mayhem.  Any one can easily climb in and get lost piloting an Atlas.  The only problem I have is I haven’t hear anything about the this year.

I llok forward to seeing you guys at Gen Con.

Gen con 014Hey Friends,

Real soon we are going to launch our Kickstarter project the Convention Experience.   While most of the details will be brought to you by the project I wanted to take some time and share with you why this is personal to me.   Sometimes I feel that the blog is too impersonal and you don’t get to see how passionate I am.  That is something that bothers me.   This is my opportunity to share something with you that goes beyond mere coverage and start to make the change.

When I was challenged to start this blog by my friend, Ryan Hale, it was intended that the coverage was going to be news, reviews and the blending of real life with gaming.   I think I’ve had some great successes and that I am still trying to find my footing in some areas.  With almost 300 YouTube videos published it is clear where I’ve succeeded.   But I feel a need to do more,  I am going to return the original vision and add more real life to the blog.  I really can’t think of a better place to start than Gen Con.

vivaVivaJava: The Dice Game

$30.00

Just like in the original VivaJava board game, in VivaJava Dice, players take on the roles of employees at the VivaJava CoffeeCo., scouring the globe for the best beans to keep the company on top while trying to keep themselves one step ahead of the rest of the executives.

VivaJava Dice puts a quick, new twist on the crucial decision of the game: the choice between blending beans or research. Players may now use the dice in their pool to blend – using the beans to create a best-seller for quick points, then deciding whether to press their luck in subsequent rounds for bigger points but fewer dice as the blends degrade. Or they can choose to research, which involves using their valuable beans to gain an ever-changing variety of dice-manipulating abilities, new ways to score, and paths that lead to aiding a competitor for a later payoff or hindering that competitor for immediate gratification. VivaJava Dice also offers a unique system of cooperative dice-rolling that can help you rise to the top, but at the price of someone else riding your coattails.

We also plan to launch MegaCon Games next KS during the month of March. It is called MERCS: Recon. It is a fully cooperative game in the MERCS world. The game will launch with game rules and how to play videos. It has been ready for a bit now, but we wanted to start shipping Myth before we launched it. Every delay in shipping pushed Recon back further and tested our patience more.
