WM: Cryx Desecrator/Harrower/Leviathan

$ 34.99 SRP

Cryx Desecrator/Harrower/Leviathan Helljack (plastic) The silent tide conceals the inexorable advance of amphibious helljacks beneath the waves. Equipped with watertight furnaces, these terrible machines emerge from the depths to sow destruction on a horrific scale. The Leviathan leads the charge with its terrifying rapid-fire cannon, fueled by excess steam from its necrotite furnace. The Harrower cuts through horrified soldiers with its enormous claw while its cannon fires incorporeal shells that pass through solid obstacles to impact its intended target in a necromantic conflagration. The Desecrator uses its alchemically charged cannon to spray corrosive fluid across a wide area while its whirring vivisector minces through flesh and steel at the murderous behest of Cryx’s generals. This box set contains three color stat cards and one multi-part helljack plastic model (PIP 34077). Included are all the components to assemble one of three helljack variants: Desecrator, Harrower, or Leviathan. A player may field any number of these helljacks in a Cryx army. SPECIAL NOTE: PIP 34077 contains the same Mk II stat cards as PIP 34026 and PIP 34039. The model in this box represents the same figures as those PIPs in the game. However, the model in PIP 34077 is a new sculpt and therefore looks different from the models found in those PIPs. In addition, this model is plastic rather than metal. PIP 34026 and 34039 will no longer be available from Privateer Press beginning May 1, 2012.

All that is left now is the large orb.  I am not sure how I am going to tackle that yet – any suggestions.

In this Box Breaking we take a look at the Circle of Orboros Celestial Fulcrum Battle Engine.   This is newest big fig from Privateer Press for Hordes.   It features 3 ranged weapons that I wouldn’t like to feel.  it also houses a pretty nifty fury ability, IMOP, I have only played Hordes a few times so I am no expert.

Did you like it?   Then +1 it and follow us on twitter.    Stop back tomorrow to see the assembly video.   We will post it to twitter.

Tabletop Quality a Miniatures Painting Guide.

 Gaming News, Miniatures  Comments Off on Tabletop Quality a Miniatures Painting Guide.
Sep 052011

Have you ever heard the phrase table top quality?  Did you wonder what it means?   Well, if you know or think you know what table top quality means read on and I will share with you my findings.  We will attempt to do this by not siding with any one view (I will still pick on stereotypes though), but instead by defining it based off reading articles, and forum posts from Dakka Dakka, Bolter and Chainsword, Cmon, and game manufacturer’s websites.

When I first decided to write this article I thought I had a good understanding of the phrase.  I was wrong.  I discovered that a  part of the “painting” community is loud enough that that they are heard.  Not only are these people loud they are rude.  You will find comments like”table top quality is just another way of saying ” , and “tabletop quality is just an excuse for you not wanting to play me”.  So if you are a new player or painter who plays you are forewarned that you will be up against this kind of mentality.  I suggest you steer clear of these people as best you can while you are learning to paint.
