LINE-UP OF SPECIAL GUESTS ANNOUNCED FOR PAIZOCON 2013

Seattle Game Company Brings in Leading Fantasy Artists, Authors and Designers for 3-Day Fan Fest

REDMOND, WA (April 3, 2013): Paizo Publishing, LLC, leading publisher of fantasy roleplaying games, novels, game accessories and board games, including the bestselling Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, announces today the line-up of special guests confirmed for 2013’s PaizoCon, taking place in Seattle, July 5 – 7. Among those confirmed are:

Ben Wootten: Wootten is an artist/designer who has worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, closely involved in designing the Balrog and Strider’s sword. He also worked on the film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Wootten’s Pathfinder work includes Pathfinder Player Companion interior illustrations, as well as covers and Bestiary monster art. His work on the original Pathfinder RPG Bestiary defined the look of dragons in the Pathfinder world.

Jim Zub: Jim Zub is a writer, artist and art instructor based in Toronto, Canada. He juggles his time between being a freelance comic writer, Project Manager for UDON Entertainment and Program Coordinator for Seneca College‘s award-winning Animation program. His current projects include Makeshift Miracle, a modern day fable, Skullkickers, a sword & sorcery action-comedy, and Pathfinder, the comic series based on the best-selling tabletop RPG.

Tim Hitchcock: In 2002, Hitchcock began submitting articles and adventures regularly for both Dungeon and Dragon magazines. He has since freelanced for many RPG companies, and written and contributed to dozens of articles, adventures and sourcebooks. Notable Paizo works include “Stolen Land” (Kingmaker #1), “Broken Moon” (Carrion Crown #3), and “The Price of Infamy” (Skull & Shackles #5).

Greg A. Vaughn: Greg A. Vaughan cut his professional adventure-design teeth writing in Dungeon with his first adventure, “Tammeraut’s Fate”. Since then he has continued to write for Paizo and the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game as well as Wizards of the Coast, Green Ronin, and Legendary Games and created Frog God Games with Bill Webb of Necromancer Games fame. He is a member of the WereCabbages freelance writers’ guild.

Neil Spicer: Through hard work and no small amount of luck, Neil Spicer successfully navigated the challenges of RPG Superstar 2009 to take the ultimate prize, winning an opportunity to pen the Pathfinder module, Realm of the Fellnight Queen. Since then, he’s gone on to write for a number of Pathfinder Adventure Paths, including Kingmaker, Serpent’s Skull, Carrion Crown, Jade Regent, Skull & Shackles, Reign of Winter, and the soon-to-be released Wrath of the Righteous.

These guests are in addition to the local gaming industry celebs expected to be in attendance, including James Ernest, Wolfgang Baur, Bill Webb, Ryan Dancey, and local artists Raven Mimura, Craig J. Spearing, and Tyler Jacobson, among them.

Paizo Con will take place July 5 – 7, 2013 at the Seattle Airport Marriott. The convention is held annually for Paizo community members from around the world to meet up for gaming, panels, workshops, costumes and other activities with Paizo staff and dozens of hobby gaming’s veteran authors, artists, publishers and designers.

A 3-day badge costs $50 in advance ($55 on site), and can be purchased through paizo.com.
