ABANDONED SPACE STATION AND GIANT SAND WORM SOUNDSETS ADD MOVIE-LIKE SOUND TO SCI-FI GAMING

New SoundSets from Syrinscape Bring Tabletop Sci-Fi Gaming to Life

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (January 14, 2015) – Syrinscape, developer of the app that creates custom soundscapes, effects, and music for the tabletop gaming experience, announces today the release of the Abandoned Space Station and Giant Sand Worm SoundSets for the Syrinscape Sci-Fi Player.

The eeriness of an abandoned space station comes to life in the Abandoned Space Station SoundSet, which completely soundscapes a vast and mostly empty structure, barely hanging together in the depths of space. From air ventilation, malfunctioning computers, and sparks, to garbled distress calls, explosions, and the joyous sound of the tearing metal hull, this SoundSet will transform the gaming table into an out-of-this-world experience. The Abandoned Space Station Sound Set is available on Syrinscape.com for $3.99.

The Giant Sand Worm SoundSet is everything a GM would want for an epic encounter with the worst the space-desert can offer. As players battle giant, vicious Sand Worms, the game is enhanced with laser fire, vehicles, bombs, roars, crashes, and other sounds for a massive, space monster clash. The Giant Worm SoundSet is available on Syrinscape.com for $3.99.

The SoundSets can be purchased separately, as part of the Sci-Fi Monthly Subscription Package for $6.50/month, or as part of the Super Syrin Subscription Package for $10/month. The Syrinscape Fantasy and Sci-Fi Players are free to download, including two free SoundSets, and are compatible with a wide range of devices, including PC, Mac, Android Tablets, and iPads. For more information, the free download, or to subscribe, visit syrinscape.com.

Syrinscape SoundPacks and SoundSets add a new dimension to the gaming table. In addition to creating the officially licensed SoundPacks for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Syrinscape creates general-purpose fantasy and sci-fi themed sounds that bring the soundtrack of gameplay to life, as well as the soon-to-be-released SoundSet Creator.

About Syrinscape
Using a powerful audio engine and complex algorithms to produce ever-changing soundscapes and rich encounter-specific music, Syrinscape conjures every aural landscape imaginable, from ethereal forests and stony shorelines, to dank, vermin-filled dungeons, to the spooky depths of the underdark. Designed by accomplished composer and tabletop gamer Benjamin Loomes, along with the developers at the Interaction Consortium, Syrinscape builds on more than 6 years of prototyping and community feedback. Syrinscape is based in Australia. Syrinscape is available for a wide range of devices, including PC, Mac, Android Tablets, and iPads, and the players can be downloaded via syrinscape for free.

PLAY “THE AGENDA GAME,” AND BRING THE POLITICAL THEATER OF THE HILL TO YOUR FAVORITE GAMING PLACE

cong(January 16, 2015) DALLAS – For anyone who has ever wanted to throw their hat in the political ring or then again just play at being a politician  now they’ll have the chance…right in their own living room with The Agenda Game <http://theagendagame.com> .

You’re a staunch Libertarian? Prove it. Or a Moralist? Make the case. The board game pits friends, family and political wonks against each other to see who can raise enough money, lift opinions in the polls and earn enough votes to successfully defend their agenda. But watch out, along the way you’ll have to test your political knowledge, frame agenda planks and steer clear of propaganda and back-handed deals.

Welcome to the world of American politics where everyone has an agenda. The Agenda Game will introduce you to the political theater all around us. In this game you choose an Agenda with seven different planks your constituents want to implement. The object is to be the first player to have enough money and votes to implement one or more planks of your platform. Along the way there is political humor, trivia and a few scandals which might derail your candidacy. Jump in and learn the fun and fantastic game of American politics in the game called AGENDA.

“Nearly everyone has strong opinions about politics, so we wanted to give people a chance to put their money where their mouth is, so to speak, and laugh a lot in the process,” says The Agenda Game Creator Mary Russell. “It’s so much more than a board game, it’s an evening’s worth of entertainment and friendly sparring right in your own home.”

The game begins with each player choosing a persona, such as Conservative or Environmentalist, complete with a set of agenda “planks” specific to each. Add to that $500,000 in seed money and a flat 50 approval rating at the polls. From there, players travel around the pitfall-laden road that is politics on The Hill – from buying a politician to being exposed for sex tapes – and test their political knowledge with the object being to win over “the public” in votes, polls, funds and successful planks to Defend Your Agenda.

  • Be a political character with your own agenda
  • 7 player types to choose from
  • Buy your own media and use it for negative or positive messaging
  • Buy your own politician and pull the strings of the lobbyist
  • Collect enough money and votes to install your own AGENDA

“There’s nothing more funny and intense than watching yourself go up and down in the polls – even if on a little plastic version of the polls – it brings out the fierce, ruthless politician in all of us,” added Russell.

The Agenda Game is sold online via theagendagame.com and on Amazon.com for $34.99.

NEW STRETCH GOALS ANNOUNCED FOR SHADOWS OF ESTEREN KICKSTARTER

esternNEW STRETCH GOALS ANNOUNCED FOR SHADOWS OF ESTEREN KICKSTARTER

PARIS, FRANCE (January 16, 2015) – Agate RPG, creators of the popular medieval horror roleplaying game Shadows of Esteren, announces today two new Stretch Goals for their current Kickstarter campaign. In addition, it was announced this week the game has been honored with an unprecedented third award for Best Art by DieHard Game Fan, an award the Shadows of Esteren team humbly dedicates to their fellow countrymen, the slain journalists of Charlie Hedbo.

The current Shadows of Esteren Kickstarter, for the game supplement book Occultism, and third music album, Rise, has reached its fundraising goal of $20,000, and has currently raised just over $99,000, with several more days to go (ending on January 20, 2015). The team is thrilled to announce today the following Stretch Goals:

When the $130,000 fundraising goal is met, it will unlock an artful blank book, for holding game notes and stories about player characters.

When the $160,000 fundraising goal is met, backers will receive a hardcover, embossed Prayer Book, based on “The Temple”, a main faction in the game. The Prayer Book is a highly anticipated, unreached Stretch Goal from a previous Kickstarter campaign.

Spanning 120-pages, Shadows of Esteren: Occultism is the new “thema” from the Shadows of Esteren series. Where the previous book, The Monastery of Tuath, centered on the order of the monks of the Temple, Occultism details professions related to esotericism and mysticism. It includes many game aids and additional rules, as well as a long scenario, “A Tidy Room”.

Shadows of Esteren: Occultism also comes with a 15-song music album, Rise, the third album in the universe of Shadows, following Of Men and Obscurities and Dearg. The two composers of Rise have accomplished a hybrid work of art, sometimes reminiscent of Ennio Morricone, but flirting with darker, more electric tones similar to Radiohead.

Shadows of Esteren is a medieval role-playing game, with a horrific and gothic influence. Drawing inspiration from Celtic myths, this universe has a discreetly fantastic side hidden under a bleak, realistic surface. This world is populated with humans who have to cope with tough daily lives, and face a supernatural threat lurking in the dark. With the focus of its adventures being investigation and survival, Shadows of Esteren favors an immersive mood, and interactions among the Players. This is the fifth Kickstarter campaign for Shadows of Esteren, each more successful than the last, with the growing legion of fans devoted to the game.

Shadows of Esteren is a truly unique success story, which can be read about in the blog. The game has won three ENnies (Best Art (Gold), Best Production Value (Gold), and Product of the Year (Silver), as well as Best Art from Diehard Gamefan for the third year.

In this episode of Matt Speaks RPG I continue down the yellow brick road of character creation as we discuss alignment.  I present the two common mind frames of alignment while sharing with you some of my personal experiences.

Next week we will move into defining your characters personality  that is if you don’t want to move through all of the traditional alignments.

I will get the written articles up before next week or I won’t post the next video.
