SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK, August 1, 2012 — Stompy Bot Productions, Inc. (www.stompybot.com) and Dream Pod 9, Inc. (www.dp9.com) have announced the exclusive licensing of Dream Pod 9’s Heavy Gear® franchise for PC, mobile and console 3D gaming to Stompy Bot Productions.

The Heavy Gear® franchise has released dozens of sourcebooks detailing the settings, people, and machines of the Heavy Gear® universe. The first Heavy Gear® computer game, titled Heavy Gear®, saw light in 1997 and its sequel, Heavy Gear® II, was released in 1999. An animated series was also aired in 2001. The Heavy Gear® game line includes an innovative mix of RPG/wargame books, card games, miniatures and other products.

How does Heavy Gear Arena and tea time really go together? It is quite simple given current events the ideas for this post came to me during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, but how, you still ask.

The Olympics originated in Greece and we all think of Gladiatorial duels of the gods which is much of what Arena is but with Mecha instead. Over the next few weeks i will talk more about arena especially seeing that Matt and myself will be giving the game a spin this weekend. Based on just my read through of the rule book my head is flooded with the endless possibilities. However that will have to wait till next time.

This years Olympics are being held in London which brings us to tea time.

The Fusilier was designed to provide PAK and the NSDF with a light rugged hovertank. after a series of designs the tank started to see the battlefield.

It boasts a tremendous amount of a hover speed 11/22. It allows your NuCoal or Humanist a tremendous amount of versatility in taking and denying objectives.

In this Interview Jason talks about his field guide projects, why he likes the Heavy Gear Setting, and what we can expect with the rules in the future. He mentions that the South will be getting some new toys and speaks briefly about the convicts and the Phoenixes. Filmed at Origins Game Fair as part of Heavy Gear Week.

I wanted to put some cool images up in the background of this video for all of you to enjoy. The lighting just wasn’t as good as it needs to be for that. I am still going to go ahead and do it at a slightly later date; I fidgeted with the images for 10 hours yesterday and I was just not happy.

In this Episode of Figure Forge Matt uses rare earth magnets to assemble the weapons on the Hussar for Heavy Gear from Dream Pod 9. He had a few problems that he caused for himself. Actually we cut a good bit out of this video, he stabbed himself once, and sliced his finger twice. The moral of the story is rare earth magnets are cool, but weapons are dangerous.
