Internal unrest brews among the court of the Abyss. The warlike Crabs bring chaos against the wise mages of the Jellyfish while the merchant Shellfish wage trade wars against the insidious Squid politicians. Can you recruit the allies you need to master the lords of the Abyss? Venture to Abyss, where players must battle monsters, recruit allies, and sway the great lords of the deep. The right hand of ally cards will let you control the lords who will help you seize the kingdoms of the Abyss. Be careful of your foes, though, because treachery abounds in the lands under the sea!

Abyss is a game of development, combination and collection in which players try to take control of strategic locations in an underwater city. To achieve this, players must develop on three levels: first by collecting allies, then using them to recruit Lords of the Abyss, who will then grant access to different parts of the city. Players acquire cards through a draft of sorts, and the Lords of the Abyss acquired on those cards grant special powers to the cardholder but once you use the cards to acquire a location, that power is shut off, so players need to time their land grabs well in order to put themselves in the best position for when the game ends.

River Dragons

Release Date: Nov 2012

$ 39.99

In Dragon Delta, you want to move your pawn over a system of bridge-like planks to the other side of the board. An easy task! Or at least it would be if everyone were working together, but alas you’re not. Instead you’re all working on your own right next to one another, each convinced that your way is best.

In game terms, players simultaneously select one card from a set of five actions that’s available to each player. The actions allow players to place plank foundations, place planks, move their pawns, cancel other players’ actions, or remove planks or foundation stones. As can be expected for a design with simultaneous action selection, the game is rather chaotic.

The 2012 edition of the game includes a double-sided game board not present in earlier editions.

Any game that gives you a chance to mess with the other players as openly as this one does I want it Asmodee Editions has so many games I want to play check them out and see for yourself.

Archipelago

Release Date: Nov 2012

$ 79.99

Are you ready to take-on your discovery mission to the archipelago? Each player takes on the role of an explorer and their team, mandated by a European nation to discover, colonize and profit from the archipelagos. These missions are supposed to happen diplomatically, by answering the needs of the local population as much as the regular demands from the continent. You’ll have to respect the archipelago and its natives as otherwise, they’ll begin to revolt and that might end up with a war for independence. That’s not taking into account that among you a separatist and a pacifist might be hidden, who will both tip the scales toward revolt or peace, respectively! Archipelago combines exploration, resource management, optimization, cooperation, strategy, negotiation, corruption, commerce, suspicion, alliances and betrayals, even a hint of investigation!

Features:

• Modular game with vast possibilities.

• A semi-cooperative game by Christophe Boelinger (Dungeon Twister, Earth Reborn).

• The possibility of choosing the length of your game – from 30 minutes to 5 hours.

Timeline: Historical Events

$ 14.99

JFK’s assassination, the 1st step on the moon, the last crusade… Can you put all these events correctly on the timeline? Each player is dealt the same number of cards. At the start of the game, a card is drawn at random from the stack and is placed at the center of the table with the date showing. This is the starting point for a timeline that will be gradually completed by the players. The first player then chooses one of his cards and places it before or after the card on the initial map. The player’s card is then turned over to show the date of the historical event. If it is correct, it stays in place. Otherwise, the card is discarded and the player must draw another to replace it. The more cards in the timeline, the harder it is not to make a mistake! The first player with no cards left wins.
