Black Powder: Napoleonic: La Haye Sainte Battle Set $280.00 SRP napolean1 On the evening of 17th June 1815, the German garrison of the large farmhouse La Haye Sainte (the sacred hedge) settled down to dry out. As the rain poured down, cold and wet soldiers did what all soldiers do – they smashed down the large gates of the barn to build a fire, little thinking that in six hours they would desperately need those gates…     The epic struggle at La Haye Sainte is now the stuff of legend, with its small garrison of green-clad rifleman of the King’s German Legion and their allies clinging on grimly against massed French infantry assaults. nap3 Finally, with the riflemens’ ammunition spent, Marshall Ney ordered one more frenzied assault and this time, with Engineers led by Lieutenant Vieux swinging axes and crowbars, the French drove through the main gate. Bayonets and swords were freely used, in savage hand-to-hand fighting. By early evening the farm was in French hands and the loss of the farm keenly felt by the Allied forces. The overwhelming arrival of Blücher’s Prussian forces won the day for Wellington’s hard-pressed men who then reoccupied the battered remains, but the struggle for this key building will be remembered for eternity.     You can now recreate this epic struggle with this superb battle-set. Will your brave German defenders be able to stave off the massed enemy assaults? Will your proud French troops be able to drive the Allies from this vital strongpoint and threaten Wellington’s flank? Only time will tell. Napolean2 La Haye Sainte contains: -Laser-cut wooden farmhouse, out-buildings, walls and pond including construction guides and acetate windows -Laser-cut wooden tables and chairs – use as firing steps -Two laser-cut wooden carts and plough (barricade) -Six metal branches to form an abatis -Major Von Baring, King’s German Legion 2nd Light Battalion (exclusive metal figure) -15 metal King’s German Legion 2nd Light Battalion with rifles and muskets -5 King’s German Legion light infantry -36 French Light Infantry (30 plastic and 6 metal) including full-colour flag sheet and waterslide decals -Lieutenant Vieux (exclusive metal figure) and five metal French Engineers with muskets or tools -12-page scenario booklet

End of Empires: 1744-1783 is a two player game covering the three great conflicts fought on the North American continent between 1744 and 1783: King George’s War, sometimes known as the Old French War, which was part of the War of the Austrian Succession), the French and Indian War, part of the Seven Years War (known in England as the Great War for Empire), and the American Revolutionary War. The French and Indian War ended the French Empire in Canada; the American Revolution ended the British Empire in the 13 American colonies.

Each End of Empire game turn represents two months’ time. Each year consists of one spring turn, two summer turns, one fall turn, and two winter turns. Each hex is approximately 20 miles across. Units are mostly regiments but a few represent other sizes, each step represents approximately 250 men.

End of Empire features two maps showing eastern North America. Each hex or town contains natural and/or man-made features that can affect the movement of units and the combat between units.

End of Empire is an Epic game and perhaps the most detailed coverage of the critical period that saw the Empires of England, France, and Spain exit North America and the rise of the United States of America. With thirteen (yes, 13) scenarios, End of Empire represents plenty of value for your gaming dollar.

Contains:

Two 22 x 34 inch maps

$69.95 SRP

Brigade Combat Team Kandahar is a modern wargame that examines the capabilities and challenges of the conflict in Afghanistan between the coalition and Taliban. The game is designed around Joseph Miranda’s Joint Ops Staff Card engine. Planning is critical as each player selects the Joint Operations cards he or she will play each turn. Each Joint Ops card played provides the player a specific capability, including Administration, Logistics, CIMIC, and Communication. Units engage in combat, provincial reconstruction, and intelligence operations. Command-control limits how players form their operational plans and coordinate large unit formations. Each side has a focused set of objectives unknown to the other side that create the doctrine and requirements for achieving victory.

The coalition player has the daunting task of conducting a counter-insurgency campaign in a country with no infrastructure, cohesive culture, or trust for centralized authority. The insurgent player has fewer assets and capabilities than the coalition, but must merely keep the teetering government off balance if it can’t topple it altogether. Each side conducts operations to counter the efforts of the opposing side, but both must be mindful of the third side – the Afghani population. The Taliban and western forces must prosecute their strategies without alienating the indigenous people.

Contains:
One 22” x 17” Game Board
170 Double-Sided Die-Cut Markers
118 Double-Sided Die-Cut Counters
50 Joint Ops Cards
24 Objective Cards
24 Chaos Cards

fleet boatsGerman Fleet Boats: Steel Wolves Expansion Game 1

$30.00 SRP

Steel Wolves Expansion Game 1: German Fleet Boats assumes that Germany never entered into the 1935 Naval agreement, instead following OKM’s original view that aircraft and hydrophone technology will dramatically impact concentrated submarine operations around the British Isles and that the fleet boat concept of long range submarines are needed to operate outside areas of dense ASW coverage. German Fleet Boats assumes significant changes to the historic design strategy: instead of focusing on medium Type VII boats, the Germans turn to the larger U-cruiser with which they experimented with in World War I. German Fleet Boats assumes that early Type I, II, and VII submarines are built as historically occurred, but prior to starting a more extensive building program, OKM makes the decision to build cruiser/fleet type submarines starting with more Type Is and four of the even larger (projected) Type III, the designs for which were based on the IA, then followed by the VIII, XI, and XII. German Fleet Boats alters the opening of the campaign allowing players to play through to the end of the England Imperiled scenario which ends at the start of Operation Barbarossa. Modifications include changes to allied task forces and the availability of additional allied units. Also included are three additional Italian Cagni class submarines.

Requires a copy of Steel Wolves in order to play.

Rebel raidersRebel Raiders (American Civil War)

$69.00 SRP

Rebel Raiders on the High Seas is a comparatively short and simple game of the naval conflict at sea and on the great rivers in the American Civil War. Easily playable in less than three hours, Rebel Raiders on the High Seas is a strategic contest between two players, one seeking to reunite the Union by force, the other to maintain its new independence in the face of the escalating industrial might and resolve of its northern brother. More of a representation than a detailed simulation of that conflict, the game is intensely engaging, highly interactive and moves along quickly, with players constantly responding and reacting to their opponent’s moves.

Although Rebel Raiders on the High Seas is not a card-driven game, the cards ensure that each game is very different, and that a strategy which worked in one game may not prove as efficacious in the next. The game is also customizable with a menu of elective rules to provide each side with a variety of “what if” options to further vary play.
